Amorosa Pasta House is a longstanding Italian restaurant tucked into Burnaby’s Edmonds neighborhood, known for its hearty, traditional pasta dishes and a welcoming, lived-in vibe. At 7870 Edmonds St, it has quietly served locals for over three decades, cultivating a steady crowd of regulars and family gatherings that give the place a familiar, homey feel.

The interior strikes a comfortable balance between casual and classic Italian dining, where servers remember your name and the menu boasts both well-known pasta plates and some interesting twists like seafood cannelloni or tortellini in double white and red sauce. The portions are generous, making it a good spot to settle in for a relaxed dinner or a celebratory meal without rushing — expect to take some leftovers home if you opt for large orders.

Amorosa’s menu is broad but focused, featuring solid pasta staples like spaghetti Bolognese and lasagna, alongside Italian-inspired specials such as chicken Parmesan with Alfredo sauce or a rack of lamb marinated with garlic herbs. The seafood offerings such as linguine pescatore and calamari dishes also add a coastal touch that fits Burnaby’s access to fresh Pacific flavors.

Customers often highlight the attentive service, with staff going the extra mile to ensure glasses are topped up and needs met, enhancing the relaxed dining rhythm. There is a slight neighborhood-restaurant feel here – longtime Burnaby residents bring newcomers, and it’s common to overhear “order the usual” from familiar faces, which speaks to the place’s consistency and loyal local clientele.

Amorosa recently began serving lunch, expanding its appeal beyond dinner crowds. The lunch menu, featuring tempting options like eggs Benedict with prosciutto and burgers with well-seasoned patties and grilled mushrooms, provides a solid midday stop for those seeking more than just a casual bite.

Best visited for family dinners, birthday celebrations, or a cozy meal with friends, Amorosa feels like a place where comfort food meets friendly neighborhood dining. It’s not flashy or trendy, but it carries the steady buzz of a well-loved spot where the food is generous and the atmosphere quietly convivial. Early evenings and weekend dinners are probably the liveliest times here, perfect for enjoying the blend of rich Italian flavors and Burnaby’s community spirit.

I was on my way to the dentist and noticed this place is now open for lunch — decided to drop by and try their lunch menu. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with prosciutto. The presentation was beautiful, the hollandaise was rich and creamy, and the prosciutto added just the right touch of saltiness. The side of hash browns was perfectly crisp, and the fresh greens and melon made it feel like a balanced meal. Most importantly, it’s reasonably priced. What a great spot for a mid-day bite!

Today we went here to celebrate my sisters birthday. Man, I honestly had no idea how it would turn out, but our experience at Amoroso has exceeded our expectations! Eugenia was very kind and went above and beyond to serve us, filling our waters every time we needed more. She told us the restaurant has been open for 32 years. I saw regular customers ordering "the usual". Like a scene out of a movie. The atmosphere is dark and ambient- very romantic. They offer a free birthday pasta (you bring ID for proof), and have HUGE servings!! They were as big as Anton's! The price is reasonable with the gigantic portions. The cheesecake is a must-have. It's double baked and comes with a candle if it's your birthday! I'm definitely coming back here again, and I 100% recommend this place.

Food was very good from the pasta to the Slovakia, reasonably priced like most of past houses in Burnaby and new Westminster. Service was excellent. Overall I gave a four because I really don’t know what a five is. If you order a large pasta, be prepared to take home leftovers for the next couple of days.

I have been going to Amorosa for almost 30 years and the food quality is consistently excellent and the service is always great. I was around when they added the Greek place next door, then combined the 2. I love taking new people there, and they always rave about the portions and the taste. I don't always make it for my birthday dinner, but I try. Hope to see them going for another 30 years.

ONE OF THE BEST BURGERS I'VE EVER HAD! I came in for the new lunch time service and was delighted to have had an incredible burger. The flavour of the mushrooms alongside the cheese and grilled onion with beautiful fresh tomato. Not to mention the star, the patty itself, was both cooked and seasoned to perfection. Aside from that, the server Polina was absolutely fantastic and she made me feel like I was right at home. Thank you Amarosa!

(Updating my review from 3 years ago. Still love this place and it’s a shame we have to come from Richmond because there isn’t really anything like it there. The servings are still great value, especially the lamb shoulder under $30) A great little neighbourhood pasta house. The service great, the food better. A generous serving of pasta at very fair prices. Not that much more than Spaghetti Factory but way better. I light the sauces as they feel very rich but not heavy. Another bonus is the very reasonable drinks menu. From pop to wine, enjoy one for less than almost any other restaurant.
